Source chronology
April 1997 — Begins practicing Falun Gong. Liu Fujin, born 1963 in Harbin, takes up the practice.
July 2000 — Beijing petition and seizure. Travels to Beijing to petition; seized at Tiananmen Square; held six days in Changping; escorted back to Harbin and held in a Xinmin Street “transformation” class with fines.
Winter 2001 — Second “transformation” detention. Taken from home on a pretext; held 23 days; fined. Followed by years of police and neighborhood harassment.
August 21, 2025 — The “8·21” sweep. Officers of the Wujia Town police station seize Liu Fujin at her home in Shuangcheng District and search the premises (16,000 yuan in “truth currency” notes and 200 stickers confiscated). The same day, Harbin police detain nearly thirty practitioners across Acheng and Shuangcheng districts in a coordinated operation. Liu Fujin is placed under criminal detention; fellow detainees named in the reporting include Zhou Chuanying, Zhao Xihua, Li Xiukuan, and Li Yanwen.
March–April 2026 — Trials of the co-detainees. Zhou Chuanying is tried by the Daoli District Court on March 18, 2026 (later sentenced to seven and a half years); Zhao Xihua is tried on April 23, 2026 (sentenced to three years and two months). Liu Fujin’s own trial took place in the same period.
2026 — Sentencing and appeal. The Daoli District Court first sentences Liu Fujin to three years; the sentence is then changed to seven years. She appeals; the appeal is rejected, and the seven-year term stands.
June 18, 2026 — Transfer to prison. Liu Fujin is transferred to the Heilongjiang Provincial Women’s Prison. Her term runs through August 20, 2032.

Contradictions and gaps
- The case database gives the sentence as 7 years; the Minghui report specifies the procedural history (initial 3-year sentence by the Daoli District Court, changed to 7 years, appeal rejected) — consistent final term, not a conflict.
- The criminal charge was not disclosed in either source reviewed.
- No account of the trial proceedings beyond the sentence outcome is available.
- The reported conditions and any later developments after the June 2026 transfer are unverified.
- No official or state-media coverage of the case was found.
