Liu Min (刘民)

Liu Min (刘民) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Lanxi County, Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province.

According to Minghui and the CHRD Prisoners of Conscience Database, Liu was first detained on December 5, 2022 with fellow practitioner Yang Zhenlin while distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Pingshan Town, Lanxi County. They were released the following day.

Minghui reports that Liu was arrested again at his home on November 13, 2023. He was first held at the Lanxi County lockup and later transferred to the Lanxi County Detention Center.

The case later moved to the Anda City authorities. Minghui reports that a first trial on April 2, 2024 resulted in a three-year prison sentence and a 10,000-yuan fine. After his family hired a new lawyer, that verdict was vacated. At a retrial in late June 2024, the court again imposed three years in prison and a 10,000-yuan fine.

A September 2025 Minghui report states that Liu had been admitted to Hulan Prison about a month after sentencing and that family visits remained restricted.

Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists 刘民 in its three-year-sentence group.

Status: listed as in custody as of August 31, 2026. The CHRD database contains a November 12, 2026 term-end field, but that database field is not treated as a confirmed future release. The specific criminal charge was not identified in the sources reviewed.
