This archive preserves the source record behind the Losang Jinba 罗桑金巴 profile: the reporting on the 2019–2020 Tengdro monastery crackdown, his 19-year sentence, and his listing as in custody as of August 2026, with provenance and limitations noted. Human Rights Watch — “中国:西藏僧侣遭判重刑” (July 6, 2021)
(Human Rights Watch, opened and read in full: https://www.hrw.org/zh-hans/news/2021/07/06/china-tibetan-monks-harshly-sentenced) Reports that authorities in the Tibet Autonomous Region prosecuted four monks of Tengdro (登卓) monastery on what the organization describes as fabricated charges, imposing sentences of up to 20 years. In September 2019, Lhasa public-security officers recovered private communications from a mobile phone lost by the monk Choegyal Wangpo — including messages with Tibetan monks in Nepal and donation records after the 2015 Nepal earthquake — then searched the monastery; multiple people were arrested and one person died by suicide. Four monks were secretly tried in 2020: 曲嘉旺波 (Choegyal Wangpo) 20 years, 罗桑金巴 (Lobsang Jinpa) 19 years, 诺布顿珠 (Norbu Dondrup) 17 years, 阿旺益西 (Ngawang Yeshe) 5 years. The organization states that the monks’ conduct — sending messages abroad and donating to disaster relief — violated no Chinese law. The account draws on interviews with Tibetans outside China, official media, social media, and exile-community reporting. Source grade: established international human-rights NGO; primary case narrative; attributed.

Source conflicts and limitations
The two sources corroborate each other on the name (character-exact) and the sentence (19 years). No primary court record, official procedural record, or PRC state-media account of the Tengdro trial has been located; no PRC official source was found for this case. The precise charge of record, the trial court, the facility, and Losang Jinba’s current condition are undocumented in the sources reviewed. Human Rights Watch’s 61-page report on the Tengdro crackdown (“Prosecuting Them with Awesome Power”) is referenced by the news item above and was not independently opened for this package. No consular dimension was established.
