Qi Ling

Qi Ling is a Falun Gong practitioner from Wuhan, Hubei Province. According to reports by Minghui, a news outlet affiliated with Falun Gong practitioners, she began practicing Falun Gong in May 1994 and has been detained repeatedly over more than two decades.

In December 1999 she traveled to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong, where she was detained and later escorted back to Wuhan. Reports describe a series of detentions in the years that followed: held for seven months in 2000; a one-year forced labor camp term in 2001; a brief detention in late 2006 (a contemporaneous report dates it to 2007); and detention in late 2013. In December 2016 she was detained again and later sentenced to three and a half years in prison, which she served in full until her release in June 2020.

In June 2024 she was detained once more in Wuhan after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. Officers ransacked her home and she was taken to a detention center. Her case was submitted to the Hongshan District Procuratorate in September 2024, and by January 2025 she had been indicted, with the case before the Hongshan District Court. The outcome of that case has not been publicly reported. She appeared in the August 2026 Issue 131 roster as a reported case of a person in custody.
