Qi Zhiyin (齐志银) is a Tianjin resident reported by Minghui.org and related religious-freedom monitoring sources to be a practitioner of Falun Gong.
Minghui reports that Qi was detained on December 28, 2017 during a large Tianjin police operation and held at the Wuqing District Detention Center. The same reporting says he later left home after receiving a court summons and lived away from his family for more than five years.
According to Minghui, Qi was detained again on February 4, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Beijing and returned to the Wuqing District Detention Center. Minghui reported in August 2024 that a local court had sentenced him to nine years in July 2024, while also noting that details of the indictment, trial and sentencing were unclear.
A later notice from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong reported that Qi had been transferred to Tianjin Binhai Prison and alleged mistreatment there. FreeChina.live has not independently verified that allegation; it is presented only as the source’s claim.
