Qu Hong (曲红), known online as 婷婷, is an internet activist from Taiyuan, Shanxi, known for voluntarily rebroadcasting public-interest lectures across mainland Chinese WeChat groups.
On May 30, 2020, she was summoned by Taiyuan police and criminally detained on suspicion of “picking quarrels and provoking trouble.” She was held at the Taiyuan No. 3 Detention Center. The prisoner-monitoring organization China Political Prisoner Concern (中國政治犯關注) and the Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) conscience-prisoner database record that she was released on bail on September 30, 2021.
The July and August 2026 monthly prisoner reports of the civil-society monitoring network 维权网 list 曲红 among three people from Shanxi reported as detained and not yet sentenced, alongside 张春蕾 and 马杰. Those listings give no charge, date, or case detail, and it is not known whether they reflect a new detention or a stale entry.
Status note: The 2020 detention, the charge at detention, and the 2021 bail release are documented by multiple sources; the 2026 monthly-report listing is a name-line entry only. Nothing here should be read as a finding of guilt — “picking quarrels and provoking trouble” was the police’s stated suspicion at detention.
Identity note: 曲红波 (Qu Hongbo, a pastor from Liaoning), whose case is separately documented, is a different person and is not associated with this case.
