Rong Xiuzhen / 戎秀珍

Rong Xiuzhen (戎秀珍), born in 1968 in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, is a Falun Gong practitioner documented in reporting about a 2008 detention in Shijiazhuang and a later 2022 arrest in Kunming.

According to Minghui family-sourced reporting, police searched Rong’s Shijiazhuang home on July 4, 2008 and detained her along with relatives. The reports describe three court hearings between 2008 and 2010 without a verdict.

Chinese Human Rights Defenders and Minghui report that Rong was arrested again on September 12, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Kunming. CHRD records that the Kunming Wuhua District Court sentenced her to four years in May 2023.

Evidence limits

CHRD’s September 2023 record lists the term as ending September 11, 2026. That date has passed, but no located source confirms release; current custody status is therefore unverified. The formal charge and post-sentencing facility are also not recorded in the located sources.

The verified Chinese name is 戎秀珍. This profile does not merge her with the different person 华秀珍 or with records using the character 荣.
