Su Cuizhi / 苏翠芝

Classification: Falun Gong practitioner; prisoner of conscience; sentenced to seven years in prison for her faith. As of July 2025, reported to be serving her sentence at the Jilin Province Women’s Prison.

Background

Su Cuizhi (苏翠芝) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Dehui City in Jilin Province, northeastern China. According to a notice from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, she was first arrested in September 2011 by Dehui domestic-security officers, who seized nearly 47,000 yuan in cash, a bank passbook, and other personal property from her home. She was subsequently sentenced to four years in prison and held at the Jilin Province Women’s Prison. After her release, she asked the police to return the seized money and property; they refused, according to the notice.

The February 2023 sweep

On February 25 and 26, 2023, Dehui police carried out a coordinated group arrest in which at least 15 local practitioners and family members were seized, according to Minghui. Su Cuizhi, Xie Yunxiang, Zheng Yuming, Wang Guiying, Liu Zhongrong, and Wang Yufen were placed under formal arrest and held at the Dehui City Detention Center. Su, Zheng, Xie, and Wang Guiying were tried together by video link on June 9, 2023.

Seven-year sentence

Minghui reports that Su Cuizhi, Xie Yunxiang, Liu Zhongrong, and Wang Guiying were sentenced in August 2023 — Su to seven years, Xie to five, Liu to three and a half years (later Minghui items describe Liu’s sentence as two years; the discrepancy is noted in the Media Archive), and Wang Guiying to ten months. The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong independently records the same seven-year sentence for Su Cuizhi. Minghui reported in July 2025 that Su, Xie, Wang Yufen, and Liu are serving time at the Jilin Province Women’s Prison.

Status and evidentiary limits

Su Cuizhi is classified as a current prisoner. 维权网’s August 31, 2026 monthly report (Issue 131) lists 苏翠芝 among the prisoners of conscience in custody, in the “sentenced to 7 years” group — consistent with the seven-year term reported by Minghui. Her prison division, exact release date, and current condition are unconfirmed beyond the sources cited above; no further detail is inferred. This profile does not merge Su Cuizhi with any co-defendant, nor with Su Guiying (苏桂英, a Zhanjiang practitioner in a different case).
