Sun Guixiang (孙桂香) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Xi’an District in Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province. She is serving an eight-year prison sentence following a trial in the Mudanjiang City Aimin District Court in April 2025.
Case record
On March 27, 2025, police arrested Sun Guixiang in Dongning City, Mudanjiang, and placed her in the Mudanjiang City Detention Center. On April 2, 2025, the Mudanjiang City Aimin District Court tried her case; she refused to confess and refused to sign the trial documents, and the court issued no verdict that day.
On June 4, 2025, during a family visit to the detention center, Sun Guixiang told her family she had been sentenced to eight years in prison and would be transferred to prison in August 2025. The Chinese Human Rights Defenders political-prisoner database records her sentence as eight years with a release date of March 26, 2033.
As of August 31, 2026, she remains listed in custody in the monthly roster of mainland political and conscience prisoners, in the group of those sentenced to eight years.
Earlier persecution
According to family accounts reported by Minghui, Sun Guixiang has faced repeated persecution over more than two decades, including a 2003 detention in which she was held in a psychiatric facility and subjected to forced injections, large-scale financial extortion by local authorities, and a brief detention in December 2017. These accounts have not been independently verified.

In custody as of August 31, 2026. Her current facility has not been publicly confirmed.
Identity note: A 2014 first-person account by a different Sun Guixiang from Dalian (from the Masanjia labor-camp era) and other earlier same-name records are unresolved same-name collisions; they are not linked to this case.
