Sun Jian (孙健) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Panjin City, Liaoning Province, currently serving a five-year prison sentence.
According to Minghui.org’s reporting, Sun — a native of Panjin — was arrested on April 13, 2024, at his rental residence in Jinzhou City and detained at the Nanshan Detention Center. He was part of a group arrest of seven Jinzhou-area practitioners in mid-April 2024. His case was submitted to the Linghai City Procuratorate in June 2024 and tried by the Linghai City Court on October 15, 2024. On November 14, 2024, the court sentenced Sun to five years in prison and fined him 7,000 yuan. A co-defendant in the same case, Zhang Yaming, received two years and a 5,000-yuan fine.
The Rights Defense Network’s August 31, 2026 custody report lists 孙健 in its A–Z name index of prisoners in custody, indicating he remained in custody as of that date.
The account of Sun’s arrest and sentencing comes from practitioner-linked reporting and has not been independently verified. No official Chinese-government or court documentation of the case has been located.
