The 2020 case
According to reporting by Minghui, Ms. Wang was arrested on November 9, 2020, while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong at a market in Huajia Town, Dalian’s Jinzhou District, together with fellow practitioner Wang Jinfeng. She was released on bail hours later for health reasons. Both women’s cases were forwarded to the procuratorate and court together. Ms. Wang was sentenced to two and a half years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. (Wang Jinfeng received two years and served outside prison.)
Delayed execution and re-detention
After sentencing, Ms. Wang was taken to Dalian City Hospital for a physical examination and then sent home. Over the following years, officers from the Huajia Town Police Station repeatedly took her for physical examinations. In March 2026, after one such examination, she was held at the Dalian Yaojia Detention Center. The police released her after some time but took her back into custody on April 30, 2026 — her husband witnessed officers dragging her toward a police cruiser that morning.
Imprisonment
On June 23, 2026, Ms. Wang — then 84 years old, with reported high blood pressure and mobility difficulties — was admitted to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison (in Shenyang) despite her condition. The police claimed she still had a year and a half left to serve, counting about a year spent under residential surveillance.
