Wang Yuchao (王钰超) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. He was 26 years old when his sentencing was reported in 2021.
Between June and August 2019, Wang was arrested at his apartment together with three other Xianyang residents — Zhang Peng, Zang Jinda, and Ma Haipeng — after police said they had distributed informational materials about Falun Gong in nearby Chunhua County. Their homes were searched and their computers and printers were confiscated. The four were detained at the Chunhua County Detention Center and later indicted by the Xianyang City Procuratorate.
It was subsequently reported that Zhang Peng was sentenced to nine years in prison, while Wang and the other two received sentences ranging from five to nine years. The exact length of Wang’s sentence has not been publicly reported.
Wang is listed among the mainland political and conscience prisoners in the August 31, 2026 monthly roster, which records his sentence as unknown.
