Wang Zechen / 王泽臣

Wang Zechen (王泽臣), born in 1949 in Liaoning, was a China Democracy Party organizer in Liaoning and a former political prisoner. Human Rights Watch documents his role in Liaoning party-building during the 1998–1999 China Democracy Party organizing campaign. A contemporaneous U.S. State Department human-rights report records that Wang Zechen and Wang Wenjiang were sentenced in Anshan in December 2000 to six and four years respectively on charges of subverting state power.

A reproduced Anshan Intermediate People’s Court judgment identifies Wang Zechen as having organized China Democracy Party activity in Liaoning in 1998, including planning for a provincial party branch and provincial congress. Because that judgment is presently available through a later reproduction rather than an authenticated court archive, it is treated as a source-register item rather than an independently authenticated original.
