Yang Biqiong (杨碧琼) — Political Prisoner Profile

Who this record covers

杨碧琼 (Yang Biqiong) is a political prisoner recorded in the Rights Defense Network’s August 2026 monthly report on political prisoners and prisoners of conscience in mainland China (Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026). The report lists her in its sentenced-to-3-years group. Her Chinese name was confirmed from the report’s own Chinese edition, which aligns name-for-name with the English edition’s “Yang Biqiong” listing.

Nothing further is publicly documented about her in the located record: no charge, no detention date, no sentencing date, no court, no facility, no province or city, no age, and no account of the events behind her case appear in the report or in any indexed reporting found during research.

Recorded status

The Issue 131 report places 杨碧琼 in the group sentenced to 3 years, among 110 people in that category. The report presents its entries as political prisoners and prisoners of conscience in custody. Sentence start and end dates are not given; this page does not assert when her sentence began, how much time remains, or whether she is currently in custody.

Identification method

The roster’s English edition lists “Yang Biqiong” with no Chinese characters. The Chinese edition of the same report was read directly: its 判刑 3 年,110 人 list reads “…贡布次仁、杨碧琼、闵良臣、刘柱…”, while the English edition lists “…Gongbu Ciren, Yang Biqiong, Min Liangchen, Liu Zhu…” — the same neighbor sequence in both languages, with 杨碧琼 occupying the “Yang Biqiong” position. The report’s own name index independently places 杨碧琼 in the Y block as “鄢景秋、杨碧琼、杨传厚…”, matching the English index’s “Yan Jingqiu, Yang Biqiong, Yang Chuanhou…”. This positional identification, from the report’s own two editions, is the sole basis for the Chinese characters — no independent biographical source confirms them. The adjacent index name 杨传厚 (“Yang Chuanhou”) is a separate roster entry in a different sentence category, not this person.

What this record does not claim

This page does not state the charge, the court, the place of detention, or the circumstances of the case — none are documented. It does not treat a roster listing as a court record, and it does not guess at facts the sources do not give.
