Yang Jianjun (杨建军) is an elder (长老) of the Panshi Bible house church （岳阳市磐石圣经家庭教会） in Yueyang, Hunan Province — an unregistered Protestant congregation founded by pastor Huang Lei in April 2022. A monthly monitoring report published by the Rights Defense Network (维权网) on August 31, 2026, lists Mr. Yang among Hunan’s detainees awaiting trial.
Detention
According to the Rights Defense Network’s case reporting, Yueyang police detained Mr. Yang along with pastor Huang Lei and preacher Hu Hongtao in a coordinated sweep of the Panshi church and other independent meeting points on July 11, 2026. The three were initially placed under 15 days of administrative detention. On July 27 — the day that administrative detention period expired — they were transferred to criminal detention on suspicion of “illegal use of information networks” (非法利用信息网络罪）, according to the report, instead of being released. Mr. Yang was held at the Yueyang No. 1 Detention Center （岳阳市第一看守所）. His family situation and the precise current procedural stage of his case beyond the August 31 listing are not publicly documented.
