Yin Huibin / 尹会彬 — Political Prisoner Profile

Yin Huibin (尹会彬), born in 1969 in Hebei, is a Christian pastor connected to Beijing Zion Church. A former petroleum-trade entrepreneur, he became an elder and then a pastor of the church, with responsibility for its day-to-day affairs and outreach work. He has been held in custody in Beihai, Guangxi, since October 2025 in the nationwide crackdown on the church, and is awaiting trial.

Background. According to a biographical record published by the advocacy group China Political Prisoner Concern, Yin studied at the Xi’an Mining Institute in 1987, worked for a state enterprise after graduation, and later built a business career in petroleum trading. He embraced Christianity in Beijing and became active in Zion Church’s worship and gatherings, eventually being ordained as an elder and working closely with the church’s senior pastor Jin Mingri. After the authorities shut down Zion Church in September 2018, Yin continued his church work as the congregation moved underground.

Detention and case. On October 9–10, 2025, police carried out coordinated detentions of Zion Church pastors, co-workers, and believers across the country; Yin was taken from his home in Beihai on October 10, and his home was searched. On November 18, 2025, prosecutors in Beihai’s Yinhai District approved the formal arrest of 18 church pastors and co-workers on suspicion of “illegally using an information network.” According to reports from the church and the advocacy group ChinaAid, in June 2026 the authorities changed the charges against the remaining detainees to fraud and illegal business operations; Yin Huibin is reported to be among those now charged with fraud. The case was indicted on July 17, 2026, and a trial scheduled for August 14–18, 2026, was delayed. As of September 2026, eight church leaders remained in custody at the Beihai No. 2 Detention Center, including Yin Huibin; no verdict has been reported. The charges described here are allegations reported by advocacy sources; no conviction has been established, and no official court document for the case is publicly available.

Family. According to the August 2026 civil-society roster entry on his case, Yin’s wife was pregnant when he was detained, and their third child was born on June 4, 2026. His family has called for his release.
