Yisimayili Sidike (依司马伊利·斯迪克)

Case record

Yisimayili Sidike (依司马伊利·斯迪克) is a Uyghur farmer from Xinjiang, born October 1, 1964, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence. His case was documented by the rights-defense network (维权网) in July 2020 and entered into the Chinese Human Rights Defenders political-prisoner database in April 2021.

According to the prisoner-database record and the rights-defense-network report it cites, Sidike was detained on June 19, 2017. On June 24, 2017 — five days later — the Yingjisha County Court in Xinjiang sentenced him to 10 years’ imprisonment for “advocating extremism” (宣扬极端主义罪).

After being transferred to prison, Sidike was reported by a fellow prisoner for praying. Following an altercation, a court of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps sentenced him to an additional 13 years on charges of “inciting ethnic hatred” (煽动民族仇恨罪) and “disrupting supervision order” (破坏监管秩序罪). The sentences were combined into a single 20-year term, with a fine of 10,000 yuan, to run until May 28, 2038.

Detention

The record places him at Kuitun Prison, run by the 7th Agricultural Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (Gongqing township, Karamay district, Karamay city, Xinjiang; postal code 834034).

Sources and caveats

These facts come from a monitoring-organization prisoner database and a July 2020 news summary of the rights-defense-network report — not from an officially published court judgment, which has not been located. The database entry contains the compilers’ own interpretive remarks about his pre-trial detention; those interpretations are not reproduced here. The case details above are presented as reported by those sources.

Identity note: This profile does not describe Qasim Sidiq (قاسىم سىدىق), a poet from Ghulja separately sentenced to 20 years — a different person.
