Yu Suhua (于素华), 55, is a reported Falun Gong practitioner from Chengde City, Hebei Province, who was reported in April 2024 to have been sentenced to three years and seven months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan, one of six Chengde residents convicted together by the Shuangqiao District Court.
Arrest and sentencing. On July 18, 2023, officers from the Shuangqiao District Domestic Security Division arrested five practitioners — Li Guifang, Yu Suhua, Du Fengjuan, Zhao Xiaohong, and Zhao Baoli — and searched their homes, seizing Falun Gong materials. Liu Jingchun, the sixth, was arrested the following day by officers from the Shuangqiao Police Station. All six were held at the Chengde City Detention Center. Their arrests were approved by the Chengde City Procuratorate on August 16, 2023; the Shuangqiao District Procuratorate later took over the cases, and prosecutor Zhang Hongjian brought the indictments.
The six appeared at the Shuangqiao District Court on December 25, 2023, and were convicted on March 7, 2024. Alongside Yu Suhua’s term of three years and seven months, Li Guifang received four years; Liu Jingchun, three years and six months; Du Fengjuan and Zhao Xiaohong, three years and four months each; and Zhao Baoli, three years. Each was also fined 10,000 yuan. The verdicts named presiding judge Fan Xiaojun, judges Deng Lijing and Zhao Zhiguo, judge’s assistant Liu Rongli, and clerk Yang Zhuang.
Status. As of August 31, 2026, Yu Suhua is listed in the Rights Defense Network (维权网) monthly report’s group of prisoners reported as sentenced to three years and seven months — dated evidence that she is reported serving her term. Her current detention facility has not been identified in published reporting. No release report has been located, and none is inferred.
