- 2024 — Minghui case report. On January 5, 2024, Minghui published a detailed account of Yuan’s case. It records that Yuan Jinming, 59, of Beiguoma Village, Houma City, began practicing Falun Gong in March 1999; was detained by Quwo County police on May 6, 2023 after surveillance footage allegedly showed him distributing Falun Gong materials; was formally arrested in June 2023; was tried by the Quwo County Court without his family’s knowledge; and was sentenced on November 20, 2023 to three years and six months in prison plus a 5,000-yuan fine, before being transferred to Jinzhong Prison on December 12, 2023. The report also recounts two earlier imprisonments (2002–2005 and 2007–2012, eight years total) and states that mistreatment in custody left his legs disabled. Minghui is a Falun Gong-affiliated outlet; its characterizations of the proceedings are attributed to it.
- 2024 — Prisoners of Conscience database record (CHRD). A record entered on February 28, 2024 in the Chinese Human Rights Defenders’ Prisoners of Conscience database lists 袁金明 (“Yuan Jinming”), born 1964, male, from Houma, Shanxi, detained 2023.5.6, charge unknown, sentenced to 3 years 6 months, release date 2026.11.5, held at Jinzhong Prison. - 2026 — Rights Defense Network roster (维权网). The August 31, 2026 monthly roster of political prisoners lists 袁金明 in its group of people reported as serving three-year-six-month sentences, consistent with the 2023 sentencing above.
