Record
Zhang Peng (张鹏), listed in the Rights Defense Network’s August 31, 2026 monthly report (Issue 131) in the “sentenced to 9 years” (判刑9年) group, 21st of the 48-name list. No charge, dates, region, facility, or case history publicly documented. This is a single-source record: the Issue 131 roster listing and its Chinese edition.
See the Person Profile.
Identification method
The roster’s English edition lists “Zhang Peng” with no Chinese characters. The Chinese edition of the same report was read directly: its alphabetical name index gives “张乃君、张盼成、张鹏、张鹏(北京)、张萍”, positionally matching the English edition’s “Zhang Naijun, Zhang Pancheng, Zhang Peng, Zhang Peng (Beijing), Zhang Ping” — the bare 张鹏 occupies this candidate’s position, distinct from the 张鹏(北京) entry. The Chinese-character identification rests on the report’s own positional consistency; no independent biographical source confirms it.
Excluded matches
- The report’s 张鹏(北京) entry is the detained-without-trial case of Zhang Neixian (张内咸), documented separately — different detention classification, different person.
- Two Minghui/Clearwisdom reports about Falun Gong practitioners named Zhang Peng (Shandong, labor camp 2000–2001; Hengyang, 10+2 years from 2001) are different people — wrong dates, wrong sentences, wrong provinces.
Evidentiary limits
No detention notice, charge, court record, news report, or family account was located for this entry. The profile is published as an honest thin-evidence record carrying the positionally resolved Chinese name and the limits of what is known — not as a completed biography. If a later source gives a different character form or a case identity, this record must be corrected.
