Zhang Ruifang (张瑞芳)

Zhang Ruifang (张瑞芳) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Chengdu, Sichuan, reported to be serving a three-year-eight-month prison sentence imposed on September 19, 2025. According to the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, Zhang, then 69, was detained on July 8, 2024 by officers of the Huangwaijie police station of the Qingyang district public security bureau in Chengdu. Her home was searched, and she was held at the Chengdu detention center. After more than a year in detention, she was tried with four fellow practitioners by the Qingyang District Court on September 19, 2025. The notice reports that Zhang was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison and fined 30,000 yuan.

The August 31, 2026 Issue 131 monthly report of the Rights Defense Network (维权网) lists Zhang Ruifang among three people serving a three-year-eight-month sentence. The report’s Chinese edition places 张瑞芳 in the matching position of the same group — the basis for the Chinese-character identification. The report classifies its entries as political prisoners and prisoners of conscience currently in custody.

Case details beyond this record are limited. No court judgment document has been located, and the formal charge wording has not been independently confirmed.
