Zhao Jinzhong (赵晋中)
Zhao Jinzhong (赵晋中) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Taiyuan in Shanxi Province. He is serving a ten-year prison sentence imposed after his arrest in September 2019.
According to a case account carried by the Falun Gong-affiliated outlet Minghui and a matching individual record in the CHRD Prisoners of Conscience database, Zhao was one of eight Falun Gong practitioners in Taiyuan seized by police on September 7, 2019. His home was searched, and nearly all of his personal belongings were taken, Minghui reported; his household registration is in Taiyuan’s Wanbailin District.
Minghui reported that Zhao was sentenced to ten years in prison with a fine, and that he is held in Jinzhong Prison in Shanxi. The CHRD database records the same ten-year term, ending September 6, 2029, and gives Jinzhong Prison as his place of detention. Minghui also reported that he was held at one point in the Taiyuan No. 1 Detention Center in Gediaogou.
No court judgment or official announcement of the case has been located; the trial court, the date of sentencing, and the charge have not been established in the sources found. Minghui notes that details of the sentencing proceedings remain to be investigated.
