Zheng Guixiang (郑桂香)
Zheng Guixiang (郑桂香), born in 1965, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Dandong City, Liaoning Province. According to the Falun Gong-affiliated outlet Minghui.org and the Rights Defense Network’s prisoner database, she was sentenced to three and a half years in prison on December 25, 2024, and fined 5,000 yuan.
Zheng began practicing Falun Gong in 1998. Minghui reported that on June 18, 2024, she was arrested by officers of the Dongjiantou Border Police Station in Dandong while talking to people about Falun Gong, and was held at the Dandong City Detention Center. She was placed under criminal detention on July 4, 2024, and a formal arrest warrant was issued on August 9. The December 2024 verdict — three years and six months — put her term through December 17, 2027.
This was not her first detention. Minghui reported that on July 26, 2013, officers of the Zhanqian Police Station in Dandong detained her for 15 days after she used currency bills printed with Falun Gong messages; she was interrogated while restrained in a metal chair and, according to the report, deceived into signing a blank sheet of paper. On November 20, 2019, she was arrested again for talking to people about Falun Gong at a wholesale market. Tried by the Zhen’an District Court on June 12, 2020, she pleaded not guilty and argued that practicing Falun Gong violated no law; the court sentenced her to ten months in prison and a 2,000-yuan fine.
