Zheng Xiuqin (郑秀琴)
Zheng Xiuqin (郑秀琴), born 1962, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Bajiazi Town, Helong City, in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of Jilin Province. She has been in detention since August 2024 and is serving a three-year prison sentence.
Zheng began practicing Falun Gong before 1999. According to the profile record compiled by a prisoner-of-conscience monitoring database, she persisted in the practice after 1999 and was repeatedly targeted in the years that followed, including periods of re-education-through-labor and ill-treatment.
On August 30, 2024, police officers from the Dongsi Police Station in Gongzhuling detained Zheng and searched her home. She was held at the Gongzhuling City Detention Center and subsequently sentenced by the Gongzhuling Court to three years’ imprisonment. The formal charge was not stated in the available records.
On March 21, 2025, she was transferred to the Jilin Provincial Women’s Prison to serve her sentence, which is recorded as running to August 29, 2027.
Her case is also listed in the August 31, 2026 mainland-China political and conscience prisoners’ monthly report (Issue 131) compiled by 维权网 (Chinese Human Rights Defenders network), which places her among the 110 people listed in the three-year sentence category.
