Zhu Guangjun (朱广军)

Zhu Guangjun (朱广军) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Guojiavu Village, Beiwu Township, in Beijing’s Shunyi District, whose hypertension worsened during detention. He was seized on September 14, 2025, formally arrested on October 21, 2025, and tried by the Shunyi District Court on March 16, 2026 — where his lawyer and he himself entered not-guilty pleas; no verdict was announced at the hearing. In mid-April 2026 he was sentenced to fourteen months’ imprisonment and a 3,000-yuan fine. The Rights Defense Network’s (维权网) monthly political-prisoners report (Issue 131, August 31, 2026) lists him in its 2-year-and-under-sentence band, confirming he remains in custody serving his term as of that date.

The case

On September 14, 2025, officers from the Shunyi District Public Security Bureau’s national-security branch and the Dasungezhuang Police Station seized Mr. Zhu and searched his home. The stated suspicion was that he had distributed Falun Gong leaflets in Dasungezhuang Township. A criminal-detention notice was served on his family the following day, and he was held in the Shunyi District Detention Center. He was formally arrested on October 21, 2025.

During detention, Mr. Zhu developed elevated blood pressure — reportedly 180–220 mmHg even after taking medication. His family’s application for medical parole was refused.

The Shunyi District Court tried his case on March 16, 2026. His lawyer pleaded not guilty, and Mr. Zhu himself made a not-guilty statement in court. No verdict was announced at the hearing. In mid-April 2026, the court sentenced him to fourteen months’ imprisonment and imposed a 3,000-yuan fine. The verdict and the names of the responsible officials are documented in a case notice published by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong.

Status and evidentiary limits

As of August 31, 2026, the Rights Defense Network’s Issue 131 report lists Zhu Guangjun in its up-to-2-years-sentence band with an in-custody classification. No release date has been stated in any public source; none is given here. The case facts come from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong’s April 5, 2026 case notice (updated April 23, 2026) and the Rights Defense Network’s Issue 131 monthly in-custody report (August 31, 2026); no court judgment has been published online by name search and no state-media report on the case has been located, and Mr. Zhu’s exact age and occupation are not reported. No other prisoner record for the name 朱广军 was located, so no do-not-merge conflict attaches.
