Long Xiaohu is documented in Asia Watch reporting as a former Hunan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office cadre who performed liaison work for students during the 1989 democracy movement and was later sent to administrative re-education through labor.
Canonical profile
See the canonical Person Profile for Long Xiaohu.
Documented chronology
Asia Watch reported that Long left China legally after June 4, returned in May 1990 after an invitation connected to the Asian Games, was arrested on June 3, 1990, and was later secretly sent to two years of re-education through labor. RTL was administrative detention rather than a criminal court conviction.
Attributed claims
Asia Watch reported authorities’ accusation that Long concealed four blank passports and nearly HK$100,000 to help student leaders escape. It also reported that Long was said to be a grandson of Long Yun. Neither claim is independently verified in the evidence set used here, so both remain explicitly attributed.
