Feng Caifeng, a 51-year-old woman from Leizhou City in Guangdong Province, was secretly sentenced to five years in prison in June 2026 for raising awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong, the spiritual discipline she practices. According to Minghui.org, which reported the case, it was the third prison term she has received since 1999.
Ms. Feng was arrested on November 27, 2025, after a fruit vendor reported her for giving him information about Falun Gong. Officers from the Minzhu Police Station in Zhanjiang City and the Zhanjiang City Domestic Security Office raided her home, confiscating a backpack and a suitcase, and took her to the Zhanjiang City Detention Center that evening. The Chikan District Court in Zhanjiang held a hearing in her case in March 2026 without informing her family; she was convicted in June 2026. Details of the prosecution have not been made public.
Her earlier cases followed a similar pattern. In mid-November 2013 she was arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials; the Leizhou City Court tried her in secret in early June 2014 and sentenced her to five years. She had no legal representation and her family was kept in the dark about the prosecution. After her sentencing she refused to sign the verdict and filed an appeal; she was released on July 15, 2018. On November 22, 2020, she and fellow practitioner Huang Yuli were arrested while distributing Falun Gong materials in Zhongshan City and held at the Zhongshan City Detention Center. The Zhongshan City First Court sentenced her to three and a half years, and she was transferred to the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison. Before 2013 she had already served two terms in labor camps.
No reporting on whether she has appealed the June 2026 verdict, or where she is being held, has appeared since the Minghui report of June 15, 2026.
