Two elderly Falun Gong practitioners — one 76, one in Beijing’s Yanqing district — have been admitted to prison in early September to serve multi-year terms, according to Minghui reports dated September 23–24, 2026.
Li Yuxiang, 76, Tianjin. Her family learned on September 8 that she had been admitted to the Tianjin Women’s Prison to serve a 4.5-year term. Li was arrested at home on July 5, 2024, by 16 officers from the Nanlou Police Station and the Wuqing District Domestic Security Office, after she mailed letters to a court and a procuratorate in Jiangsu Province urging them to stop participating in the persecution of Falun Gong. She was indicted on April 9, 2026, and tried in the Wuqing District Court on April 23 and May 12, 2026; her family reports that the prosecutor, Gao Jin, seized her defense statement and that the presiding judge, Li Haifeng, barred spectators and had her daughter brought into court to press her to admit guilt. Li, who has severe hearing loss, was seized from home on May 13 and taken to the Wuqing District Detention Center. Her family is reported to be worried about her physical and mental well-being.
Wang Chaoying, Beijing Yanqing. On August 30, six police cruisers and an ambulance arrived at her home; she was taken to the Changping District Detention Center and admitted to Tuanhe Prison on September 2 to serve a 2.5-year term handed down in 2021. Wang was originally arrested in October 2020 for distributing Falun Gong materials and sentenced in April 2021, but had remained under house arrest for years after repeated medical unfitness findings. Minghui reports that court officials lured her to a physical exam on August 28–29, 2026, and that her family witnessed authorities instructing healthcare workers to alter her medical records — a blood-pressure reading of nearly 200 mmHg systolic recorded as 160 — to meet detention requirements. An insider source cited by Minghui says Wang has begun a hunger strike in protest.
Wang previously served three forced-labor terms totaling six and a half years between 2002 and 2009, also for her faith.

What you can do
Watch for independent confirmation of both women’s conditions — particularly Wang Chaoying’s reported hunger strike and Li Yuxiang’s health in custody. Track any family-visit reports from Tuanhe Prison or the Tianjin Women’s Prison.
