The case
Wang Housheng (王厚升), born 1960, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Jinan City, Shandong Province, and a retired employee of the Dazhong Daily (大众日报), the Shandong provincial party newspaper, according to the Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) Prisoners of Conscience Database.
Earlier detentions

The September 2025 roundup
On September 29, 2025, Wang was among more than 40 Falun Gong practitioners in Jinan seized by officers of the Changqing District Public Security Bureau, according to the CHRD database; at least 19 of them were criminally detained. The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) independently lists Wang Housheng (male, in his 60s) among the practitioners from that incident who remained in detention as of late May 2026.
