Profile
Wang Kuilan (王奎兰) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Tianjin. Minghui.org reports that the Wuqing District Court sentenced her to five years in January 2025, and the Rights Defense Network’s August 31, 2026 Issue 131 report lists 王奎兰 in its five-year sentence group.
2023 arrest
According to Minghui.org, Wang was reported to police in August 2023 after speaking to people about Falun Gong. The outlet reports that police searched her home, confiscated Falun Gong books and other materials, and later released her on bail pending trial. Two Minghui reports differ in how they name the local police station; that discrepancy is not resolved here.
2025 sentence
Minghui.org reports that Wang was later taken back into custody and sentenced by the Wuqing District Court to five years in prison in January 2025. The outlet says her family learned of the sentence in February 2025 after being contacted about a visit at Tianjin Women’s Prison. No primary court judgment or official state-media account was located in the prepared research.
Status
The Rights Defense Network’s August 31, 2026 monthly report lists 王奎兰 among people reported in custody in its five-year sentence group. The prepared evidence does not establish any later transfer, release or present condition, so no such inference is made.
Source note
Most case-level detail comes from Minghui.org and a Falun Dafa Information Center summary drawing partly on related Falun Gong-community sources. These sources’ legal and advocacy characterizations remain attributed to them. Conflicting reported ages were not used to infer a date of birth.
