Source record

The 2025–2026 case is documented by the Chinese rights-reporting network 维权网 (detailed case entry, July 28, 2026) and by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (notice, May 16 / updated May 31, 2026). The couple’s earlier 2008 persecution is documented by Minghui/Clearwisdom (November 2008). The existing FreeChina.live pages for Liu Ruping (husband) carry the same case facts, citing Minghui and WOIPFG, and Zhang’s page completes the pair.

Evidentiary limitations

  • No court judgment or official document for the April 2026 sentence is publicly available; the dates, terms, and fine rest on 维权网 and WOIPFG reporting, which are attributed as such.
  • The exact prison where Zhang is serving her sentence has not been publicly reported.
  • The husband’s name appears as 刘如平 (维权网, FreeChina.live) and 刘汝平 (WOIPFG); both forms refer to the same Jinan/Changqing man, per matching age, spouse, arrest date, court, and sentence.
