Zhang Shufeng (张述凤) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Deyang, Sichuan, reported to be serving a three-year-eight-month prison sentence. According to Minghui.org, Zhang, then 70, was taken back into custody on November 23, 2023 to serve the sentence after having been released on bail. The report says she had been arrested on June 27, 2022 after talking to a passerby about Falun Gong on the street; the person photographed her and reported her to the Xiaogan police station. Police raided her home the following day, confiscated her Falun Gong books and materials, and released her on bail that evening. The Shengyang District Court tried her on June 19, 2023; her lawyer argued there was insufficient evidence, and she was allowed to go home after the hearing. Weeks after police seized her on November 23, 2023, her family learned she had been sentenced to three years and eight months. The exact date of sentencing is not reported.
The August 31, 2026 Issue 131 monthly report of the Rights Defense Network (维权网) lists Zhang Shufeng among three people serving a three-year-eight-month sentence. The report’s Chinese edition places 张述凤 in the matching position of the same group — the basis for the Chinese-character identification. The report classifies its entries as political prisoners and prisoners of conscience currently in custody.
Case details beyond this record are limited. No court judgment document has been located, and the formal charge wording has not been independently confirmed. A separate Falun Gong practitioner also named Zhang Shufeng — 张树凤 of Shouguang, Shandong, sentenced in 2013 — is a different person and must not be confused with her.
