This archive preserves the media and documentary record on the case of Zhong Liena (钟列娜), a Falun Gong practitioner from Rongcheng District, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, reported to be serving a four-year sentence (term to November 2026).
Case narrative preserved from cited sources
Zhong began practicing Falun Gong in 1998. Over the years she was detained in January 2000 and June 2000 and twice sent to labor re-education at the Sanshui women’s labor camp. In 2004 she was sentenced to four years and held at Guangdong Women’s Prison; in June 2017 she was arrested in Jiedong District and sentenced to four and a half years, again held at Guangdong Women’s Prison.
In November 2022, aged over 70, she was arrested while visiting fellow practitioner Wu Rongduan’s home and taken by the Ronghua police station to the Jieyang City detention center. In late September 2023 her family was informed by the detention center that she had been sentenced to four years. She is reported to have appealed to the Jieyang City Intermediate People’s Court. Her exact charge and current detention location have not been publicly reported.
