Liu Fujin (刘富金)

Liu Fujin (刘富金) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. Born in 1963, she was seized at her home in Harbin’s Shuangcheng District on August 21, 2025, and subsequently sentenced to seven years in prison in connection with her religious practice. On June 18, 2026, she was transferred to the Heilongjiang Provincial Women’s Prison.

The 2025 case

On the morning of August 21, 2025, officers of the Wujia Town police station seized Liu Fujin at her home and searched the premises, confiscating items including 16,000 yuan in “truth currency” banknotes and 200 adhesive stickers. The same day, Harbin police carried out a coordinated operation across Acheng and Shuangcheng districts, detaining nearly thirty practitioners. The operation was described in the reporting as organized and directed by the political-legal authorities.

Liu Fujin was placed under criminal detention and prosecuted. The Daoli District Court tried her case and initially imposed a three-year sentence; the sentence was then changed to seven years, and her appeal was rejected, leaving the seven-year term in force. The charge was not disclosed in the available reporting. On June 18, 2026, she was transferred to the Heilongjiang Provincial Women’s Prison to serve the sentence, which runs through August 20, 2032.

Earlier persecution history

Liu Fujin began practicing Falun Gong in April 1997. After the 1999 crackdown on the practice, she was detained repeatedly over the following decades. In July 2000 she traveled to Beijing to petition; she was seized at Tiananmen Square, held for six days in Changping, then escorted back to Harbin by the Shuangcheng liaison office and held in a “transformation” class on Xinmin Street, where she was ordered to abandon the practice and was fined. In the winter of 2001 she was taken from her home on a pretext and held in a similar class for 23 days, with fines again imposed. Police and neighborhood personnel subjected her to frequent harassment in the years that followed.

Current status

Her sentence term runs through August 20, 2032. As of the latest dated record (June 2026), she was held at the Heilongjiang Provincial Women’s Prison. No independently verified information about later developments or her current condition is available; release has not been verified and is not asserted here.

Identity note: Liu Fujin (刘富金) is a different person from Liu Furui (刘福瑞), a Henan practitioner with a similar name. The two cases are entirely distinct and must not be merged. Liu Fujin is also distinct from Liu Bobin (刘伯滨) and 刘增奎, names that surfaced in unrelated search results.
