Tian Lisha / 田丽莎 — Media Profile & Archive

This archive preserves the documented media and case record for Tian Lisha (田丽莎), a Falun Gong practitioner from Wendeng District, Weihai, Shandong, currently serving a nine-year prison sentence following the July 2022 police operation against the Hongyun carpet factory.

Case chronology (as documented by the case archive)

  • First half of 2011: Arrested at work at the Taiwei Electronic Factory by Wendeng domestic-security police; home searched; sent to a forced-labor camp. Her family hired lawyers and filed administrative-reconsideration applications challenging the labor-camp sentence; the Weihai City Government upheld the decision.
  • November 2019: Tian Shihong, founder of the Hongyun carpet factory and — according to the case reports — Tian Lisha’s brother, died at age 64 after years of detention, labor-camp confinement, and harassment. His wife Li Shuhong and daughter continued operating the factory.
  • July 20, 2022 (morning): Wendeng Branch police, reinforced by riot police, moved into the Hongyun carpet factory; Tian Lisha, Li Shuhong, and Liu Mingming were taken away; the factory was sealed. Reports of the July 21 operation describe about two hundred officers surrounding the plant, controlling workers individually, and seizing books, printers, engraving equipment, and data media. Ten-plus local practitioners were seized the same day.
  • August 28, 2022: Tian Lisha, Li Shuhong, Qu Aiping, and Zhang Yingming formally arrested on the approval of the Wendeng District Procuratorate; held in Wendeng and Weihai detention centers. Five others were released on bail.
  • December 28, 2022: Rongcheng City Procuratorate indicted all nine practitioners at the Rongcheng City Court.
  • August 24, 2023: The nine stood trial at the Rongcheng City Court; the reports state Tian Lisha rejected the charges in court and the practitioners were interrupted and threatened during the proceedings.
  • December 2023: Reporting networks learned Tian Lisha had been sentenced to nine years; Li Shuhong two years; Liu Mingming nine months. The charge was not publicly stated. Term recorded to July 19, 2031.
  • August 31, 2026: Listed in custody in the 维权网 Issue 131 monthly roster, nine-year sentence group.

Evidentiary limitations

  • The sentencing court beyond Rongcheng City Court, the formal criminal charge, and the written verdict are not publicly available.

  • No PRC state-media or court-document coverage of this case was located. Characterizations of the detention, trial, and sentencing as unlawful reflect the reporting networks’ accounts and are presented as attributed claims, not independently verified findings.
