Su Cuizhi 苏翠芝 — Media Profile & Archive

This archive preserves the source record behind the Su Cuizhi 苏翠芝 profile: the reporting on the February 2023 Dehui sweep, her seven-year sentence, her earlier 2011–2015 term, and her reported transfer to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison, with provenance and limitations noted. Sources are graded; allegations remain attributed rather than stated as fact.

Minghui — “Arrested in a Police Sweep, 80-Year-Old Jilin Man Latest Confirmed to Be Jailed for Practicing Falun Gong” (July 25, 2025)

(Minghui.org, opened and read in full: en.minghui.org) Reports that Li Decheng, arrested in the February 25, 2023 Dehui sweep, was admitted to Changchun Tiebei Prison to serve a four-year term. Confirms the sentences of the other sweep defendants: Zheng Yuming and Su Cuizhi each received seven years; Wang Yufen, Guo Encai, and Liu Zhongrong two years each; Xie Yunxiang five years and Wang Guiying ten months. States that Ms. Su, Ms. Xie, Ms. Wang Yufen, and Ms. Liu “are currently serving time at the Jilin Province Women’s Prison.” This is the most recent location confirmation for Su Cuizhi. Source grade: subject-community media; most recent custody-location report; attributed.

Minghui — “Dehui City, Jilin Province: 15 Arrested in One Day, 4 Sentenced to Prison” (September 20, 2023)

(Minghui.org, opened and read in full: en.minghui.org) Primary case article: 15 locals arrested February 25, 2023 for practicing or supporting Falun Gong; Su, Xie, Liu, and Wang Guiying given criminal detention, initially at Jiutai Detention Center in Changchun, then transferred to Dehui City Detention Center; all four sentenced in August 2023 — 7 years, 5 years, 3.5 years, and 10 months respectively. Notes indictment, trial, and sentencing details remained under investigation at the time. Source grade: subject-community media; primary case narrative; attributed.

World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong — notice on Dehui persecution of Su Cuizhi and others (October 19, 2023; updated March 24, 2024)

(WOIPFG, opened and read in full: zhuichaguoji.org) Names 苏翠芝 as the case subject: among at least 15 seized February 25–26, 2023 in an operation the notice attributes to the Dehui police chief’s planning; six formally arrested including Su, Xie Yunxiang, Liu Zhongrong, Wang Guiying, Wang Yufen, and Zheng Yuming; “Su Cuizhi 7 years, Xie Yunxiang 5 years, Wang Guiying 10 months” sentenced by Dehui City Court in August 2023; Zheng Yuming sentenced January 4, 2024 to seven years and transferred to Jilin Prison. Documents her September 2011 home arrest, confiscation of nearly 47,000 yuan and a passbook, a four-year sentence served at Jilin Province Women’s Prison, and her unanswered request for return of the seized property. Lists the officials and units the organization holds responsible. The notice uses strong accusatory language (“illegal,” “crimes”) which reflects the advocacy position of the issuing organization, not independently established findings. Source grade: Falun-Gong-affiliated human-rights monitoring organization; attributed; advocacy framing preserved as reported.

Minghui — “Jilin Physician Serving Second Prison Sentence for Her Faith in Falun Gong” (March 18, 2025)

(Minghui.org, opened and read in full: en.minghui.org) Reports physician Liu Zhongrong’s case from the same sweep; describes Liu’s sentence as two years in August 2023 and confirms: “Mr. Zheng Yuming and Ms. Su Cuizhi each received seven years.” Corroborates Su’s seven-year sentence from a later report. Source grade: subject-community media; attributed; co-defendant cross-confirmation.

Minghui — “Additional Persecution News from China – May 3, 2023” (May 21, 2023)

(Minghui.org, opened and read in full: en.minghui.org) Reports that Su Cuizhi, Xie Yunxiang, Zheng Yuming, and Wang Guiying were formally arrested and held at Dehui City Detention Center. Source grade: subject-community media; attributed; procedural milestone (formal arrest).

Minghui — “Additional Persecution News from China – June 11, 2023” (June 22, 2023)

(Minghui.org, opened and read in full: en.minghui.org) Reports that Zheng Yuming, Su Cuizhi, Xie Yunxiang (spelled “Xie Yuxiang” in this item — an apparent editorial variant), and Wang Guiying were tried online on June 9, 2023. Source grade: subject-community media; attributed; procedural milestone (trial date).

Minghui — “Additional Persecution News from China – March 1, 2023” (March 15, 2023)

(Minghui.org, opened and read in full: en.minghui.org) Reports the February 25–26, 2023 group arrests in Dehui City: 11 practitioners seized including Xie Yunxiang, Zheng Yuming and his wife, Wang Guiying, Su Cuizhi, and others; four released. Source grade: subject-community media; attributed; earliest arrest report.

Minghui — “Additional Persecution News from China – October 14, 2018” (November 2, 2018)

(Minghui.org, opened and read in full: en.minghui.org) One-line item: “Ms. Su Cuizhi was recently arrested” in Dehui City, Jilin. No further detail is given. Recorded as a continuity data point; it is thin on its own and consistent with — but not independently proving — the Dehui Su Cuizhi’s repeated targeting between her release from the first term and the 2023 sweep. Source grade: subject-community media; attributed; thin corroboration.

维权网 — August 2026 monthly report, Issue 131 (August 31, 2026)

维权网《中国大陆在押政治犯、良心犯月度报告(2026年8月31日)第131期(共1638人)》, read via local mirror of the Chinese edition. Independent Chinese-language rights-monitoring outlet. Lists 苏翠芝 in the “判刑7年” (sentenced to 7 years) group, adjacent to Zheng Yuming. Supplies no biographical detail beyond the sentence and custody status; it is the source for her classification as in custody as of August 2026. Source grade: monitoring organization; single-source roster fact.

Source conflicts and limitations

Later Minghui items describe co-defendant Liu Zhongrong’s August 2023 sentence differently — 3.5 years in the September 2023 article versus 2 years in the March 2025 and July 2025 items. The conflict concerns Liu, not Su Cuizhi; every item describing Su Cuizhi gives the same sentence — seven years. No primary court record, official procedural record, international-media account, or recognized-NGO coverage beyond the outlets above has been located; no PRC official source was found for this case. The roster gives no cause detail beyond the sentence and custody status; the Falun Gong affiliation and full case history are Minghui/WOIPFG-reported and attributed accordingly. No consular dimension was established. The June 2023 brief’s “Xie Yuxiang” is recorded as an editorial variant of 谢云香 / Xie Yunxiang.
