A Falun Gong practitioner in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, has been sentenced to one year and ten months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan for practicing Falun Gong, according to a Minghui.org report published October 15, 2026.
Ms. Zheng Yufang, who is also known as Zheng Lihui, was arrested at her workplace on April 17, 2026, Minghui reports. Police raided her home and confiscated all items related to Falun Gong. Minghui says a residential security guard reported her for distributing Falun Gong materials on April 15; the guard photographed her electric motorcycle’s license plate, and police traced her through the registration record.
Trial and sentence
Minghui reports that Songshan District police and the Songshan District Detention Center repeatedly denied requests by a family-hired lawyer to visit Ms. Zheng. The case was submitted to the Songshan District Procuratorate in early May, and Minghui says prosecutor Chen Hongguang indicted her.
Ms. Zheng appeared in the Songshan District Court on August 13, 2026. Minghui reports that only one family member was permitted to attend the trial, that a court-appointed lawyer was instructed to enter a guilty plea on her behalf, and that Judge Zhang Yu, assisted by Judge Yin Lei, presided. Minghui says the court sentenced Ms. Zheng to one year and ten months; the report does not give the exact sentencing date.
Minghui further reports that Ms. Zheng’s detention has devastated her family: her husband has struggled to care for their child, and her elderly mother, who relied on Ms. Zheng for care, has experienced declining health and has been hospitalized.
