Li Yuhan (李昱函) is a Chinese human-rights lawyer who represented Wang Yu after the 2015 “709” crackdown. She is released and is not currently imprisoned.
Detention, sentence and release
Li was taken away in October 2017 and later prosecuted for “picking quarrels and provoking trouble” and fraud. She received a combined six-and-a-half-year sentence in October 2023. Front Line Defenders and China Change confirm that she completed the sentence and returned home on March 24, 2024.
Post-release evidence
United Nations follow-up material records that Li was in poor health after release and needed medical care. It also reports that during an April 2024 trip to Beijing for medical treatment she had to leave a residence after alleged police pressure on her host. These are dated post-release facts; they are not automatically projected into 2026. The exact scope of her present health, professional, movement and surveillance restrictions therefore remains under verification.
