2026年9月9日 — 王希哲公開前往香港並準備面對當局，使他的人身安全成為必須受到即時國際關注的問題。 自由中國運動呼籲民主國家政府、國際組織、人權團體和媒體密切追蹤王希哲的下落與待遇。和平表達政治異議不能成為秘密拘押、失蹤、脅迫或政治報復的理由。 王炳章博士2002年在越南旅行期間失蹤、其後被帶入中國並最終被判無期徒刑的歷史，說明國際社會不能等到一個人的下落變得不明後才開始關注。 行動：如果王希哲被香港當局拘留，應立即公開其法律狀態、拘留地點與依據，並保障律師會見、家屬聯繫以及適用的領事協助。任何問話、遣離或其他措施都應依法、透明並可接受外界監督。 截至發布時，自由中國運動尚未獨立確認王希哲是否已進入香港、被拘留、接受問話、被遣離，或仍在途中。
