Wang Ce is a veteran Chinese democracy activist who lived in exile in Spain and returned to China in 1998. Contemporaneous international reporting documented his detention in Hangzhou after contact with democracy activist Wang Youcai, his later four-year prison sentence, and his early release in 2002.
Evidence note: Separate organization-history sources connect him to overseas democracy organizations, including a 1993 congress that elected him chair of one branch of the China Freedom and Democracy Party, but exact organization lineage, merger history, titles and tenure dates remain subject to primary-source verification. This profile keeps press evidence, organization self-history and later recollection distinct. Corrections and primary-source contributions are welcome.
