What is documented
Ms. Cai Xi, 66, was arrested at home in Foshan on March 18, 2025, by Zumiao Police Station officers after being reported for distributing Falun Gong materials; her Falun Gong books, a computer, and a printer were confiscated. She was held at the Chancheng District Detention Center and her formal arrest was approved in spring 2025. In early December 2025 her family learned she had been secretly sentenced to two and a half years in prison, without ever being notified of an indictment or trial. The case has a documented prior arc: harassment in April 2016, criminal detention at the Shiwan Detention Center, a formal arrest warrant, a November 2017 sentence of two years with three-year probation, and a forced renunciation statement in October 2020 that she later declared void.
