Documented record
The source names Deng Jun together with Wu Wei, Xiong Jianjun, and Fu Guanghui. It reports that the four agitated for strikes and that their activity contributed to a brief interruption of Changde’s water supply.
Asia Watch reported that all four were arrested after June 4, 1989 and, in November 1989, received administrative re-education-through-labor terms ranging from two to three years. The source does not assign either term specifically to Deng Jun. RTL was administrative detention rather than a criminal court sentence.

Research limits
Asia Watch stated in 1992 that the four workers might then have been free but had no confirmation. Deng Jun’s exact age, plant position, arrest date, individual RTL term, facility, release date, later history, and present status remain unresolved.
