Feng Guoqing (冯国清) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yichun City in Heilongjiang Province. In July 2025 he was sentenced to six years in prison in connection with his practice of Falun Gong.
According to reporting by Minghui, police from the Jinlin District Public Security Bureau in Yichun arrested Feng on December 4, 2024, and repeatedly searched his home. Officers confiscated more than 200,000 yuan in cash, some of which was printed with messages about the persecution of Falun Gong. Jinlin District police chief Xie Xueyi and the head of the district 610 Office, Zhou Cheng, were identified in the reports as ordering his interrogation through torture. Feng refused to answer questions and held a hunger strike for more than 40 days. Reports describe him being stripped of his clothing, restrained spread-eagle on a bed, and force-fed; he was forced to relieve himself on the bed and suffered kidney failure in both kidneys as a result.
The Jinlin District police submitted his case to the Nancha County Procuratorate, which indicted him and moved the case to the Nancha County Court. He appeared in court on June 20, 2025, using the Yimei District Court’s courtroom. His lawyer was informed on July 5 that he had been sentenced to six years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. The confiscated cash was expropriated. He was held at the Yichun City Detention Center while awaiting the outcome of his appeal. A notice from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, updated September 28, 2025, states that the Yichun Intermediate Court dismissed his appeal and upheld the six-year sentence.
Feng’s case is not his first encounter with detention. Minghui reports that he was first arrested on February 6, 2000, when he went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong, and was given a series of administrative detentions totaling 45 days after being brought back to Yichun. He was detained again in late April 2000 for 54 days, and held at a brainwashing center for 27 days toward the end of 2000. On April 10, 2002, officers from the Jinshantun police detained him at home and subjected him to severe beatings and other torture over several days. He was later sentenced to four years in prison, entering Xianglan Prison on December 6, 2002, and transferred to Jiamusi Prison on January 14, 2003, where he was subjected to further reported torture including forced-feeding, electric shocks, beatings, sleep deprivation, and verbal abuse. After his release in 2006, his wife divorced him and his employer, the Jinshantun Forest Survey and Design Team, fired him.
