Person profile: Feng Suxia (丰素霞)
# Media Archive: Feng Suxia (丰素霞)
This archive preserves the dated reports documenting the detention and sentencing of Falun Gong practitioner Feng Suxia (丰素霞) of Renqiu City, Hebei Province, from her first documented detention in 1999 through her 2026 sentencing. Where reports conflict or details are uncertain, the limitation is noted. (Note on the name: the prisoner database renders her name 丰素霞; Minghui’s English reporting gives no Chinese characters, so the character form should be treated as probable, not certain.)
## 1. Late 1999 – 2000 — Beijing appeal, 13-day detention, 5,000-yuan extortion

Feng went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong after the persecution began in July 1999. She was arrested and sent back to Renqiu, held in the Renqiu Detention Center for 13 days. Her husband was forced to pay 5,000 yuan as a deposit guaranteeing she would not appeal again; the money was never returned. When Feng wrote asking for the money back, police arrested her again and held her in the detention center for almost two months.

## 2. August 25, 2010 – May 2012 — Night arrest, torture-interrogation, 2011 sentence

More than 12 officers barricaded Feng’s home around 11 p.m. on August 25, 2010, and arrested her. At the Chu’an Police Station she was placed in a metal chair, hands cuffed behind her back; her family later saw scrapes on her wrists and swollen hands. Tried March 1, 2011, at the Renqiu City Court — with a criminal inmate serving as “assistant judge” — she was sentenced to three years with four years’ probation. Released May 2012 after nine months’ detention; her health had deteriorated and her mother-in-law had died from the trauma while Feng was barred from the funeral.
*Provenance note: details of the 2010–2012 sequence are recounted in the past-persecution sections of the 2025–2026 reports, consistent with the 2012 Minghui article on Renqiu’s domestic-security division.*
## 3. October 10, 2025 — Sticker arrest and home raid

Surveillance cameras recorded Feng putting up self-adhesive stickers about the persecution of Falun Gong. Officers from the Cangzhou City and Renqiu City Domestic Security Offices and the Chu’an Police Station surrounded her home in Beicangkou Village, Outai Town, Renqiu, drove away onlookers, and — with guns in hand — raided the house, confiscating valuables including her electric bike and clothing. Taken to the Renqiu City Detention Center on October 22, 2025; a formal arrest warrant followed. An insider reported she went on a hunger strike to protest.

## 4. January 6, 2026 — Three-year-three-month sentence
*Source: Minghui.org, “62-Year-Old Hebei Woman Sentenced to More Than Three Years for Practicing Falun Gong,” February 11, 2026*
The Renqiu City Court tried Feng on January 6, 2026, and convicted her at the end of the hearing, sentencing her to three years and three months for practicing Falun Gong. She is appealing. The article also recounts her history: she took up Falun Gong in 1998; after 1999 she was arrested multiple times and served the 2011 sentence described above.
## 5. March 2026 — Appeal before the Cangzhou Intermediate Court
*Source: Minghui.org, “Additional Persecution News from China – March 31, 2026” (6-report digest)*
A brief item reports that Feng was sentenced to three years and three months by the Renqiu City Court in January 2026 and has appealed to the Cangzhou City Intermediate Court.

## 6. Database record — in-prison status, January 2029 release
*Source: tenchu.org, “Prisoners of Conscience Data, Mainland China” F-list (record updated 2026-03-17)*
The database lists 丰素霞 Feng Suxia as 有期徒刑 (serving a fixed prison term), with a release date of 2029.1.9. A three-year-three-month term counted from the October 2025 detention lands in January 2029, consistent with the reported sentence.
## Evidentiary limitations
– The Chinese character form of the name (丰素霞 vs 冯素霞) is not confirmed by Minghui’s English reporting; the database’s 丰素霞 is used as the sourced form.
– The formal charge is not stated in any source consulted and is not asserted here.
– The facility where Feng is held after sentencing, and the outcome of her appeal, are undocumented.
– All detention and trial details come from the practitioner reporting network and an advocacy-compiled database; no court document or independent corroboration was found. A reprint of one Minghui report gives her age as “in her 50s,” contradicting Minghui’s own 61/62 figure — the dated Minghui reports are treated as authoritative on age.
– The January 9, 2029 release date is a database projection; do not present her as released without fresh confirmation.
