# Feng Suxia (丰素霞)
Feng Suxia (丰素霞) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Renqiu City in Hebei Province. According to the Falun Gong reporting network Minghui.org, she took up the practice in 1998 and has been detained repeatedly since the nationwide crackdown began in 1999. In the most recent case, she was arrested in October 2025 after surveillance cameras recorded her putting up stickers about the persecution of Falun Gong, and the Renqiu City Court sentenced her to three years and three months on January 6, 2026.
## Early persecution, 1999–2012
In late 1999, Feng went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. She was arrested, taken back to Hebei, and held in the Renqiu City Detention Center for 13 days. An officer surnamed Zhang extorted 5,000 yuan from her family before releasing her; her two children were still in school and her incapacitated father-in-law depended on the family, so her husband had to borrow the money from several people.
In early 2004, Feng wrote to the officer asking for the 5,000 yuan back. In response, another officer and about six agents arrested her, and she was not released for several months.
Around 11 p.m. on August 25, 2010, more than a dozen officers from the Cangzhou and Renqiu domestic-security offices and the Chu’an Police Station barricaded the fence around Feng’s home and arrested her — she was wearing only a tank top and shorts and was not allowed to change. At the Chu’an Police Station she was interrogated in a metal chair with her hands cuffed behind her back; when her family visited, they saw scrapes on her wrists and badly swollen hands.
She stood trial on March 1, 2011, at the Renqiu City Court — pale, swollen, needing help to get out of the car. The judge used a criminal inmate as an “assistant judge” and sentenced her to three years in prison with four years’ probation. Her mother-in-law was so traumatized that she died not long after; Feng was not allowed to attend the funeral. She was released in May 2012 after about nine months in detention, her health badly deteriorated.
## October 2025 arrest and January 2026 sentence
On October 10, 2025, surveillance cameras recorded Feng putting up self-adhesive stickers carrying messages about the persecution of Falun Gong. Officers from the Cangzhou City Domestic Security Office, the Renqiu City Domestic Security Office, and the Chu’an Police Station surrounded her home and drove away onlookers. Armed police raided the house and confiscated valuables, including her electric bike and clothing.
She was taken to the Renqiu City Detention Center on October 22, 2025, and a formal arrest warrant was issued. According to a source inside the detention center, she went on a hunger strike to protest the arrest.
The Renqiu City Court tried her on January 6, 2026, and convicted her at the end of the hearing, sentencing her to three years and three months. She is appealing the sentence; a March 2026 report says the appeal is before the Cangzhou City Intermediate Court.
## Status
