Fu Hong (付鸿), a 57-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Qinhuangdao City in Hebei Province, was sentenced to five years in prison in late October 2025 after being arrested with Falun Gong books at a train station. She appealed, and the Qinhuangdao Intermediate Court upheld the verdict; Minghui reported that she was admitted to the Hebei Province Women’s Prison on December 16, 2025.
Ms. Fu, who works at the Coal Inspection Center of the Qinhuangdao Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, was arrested on the morning of November 20, 2024 at the local train station after railway security officers found Falun Gong books and an electronic reader in her luggage. Police raided two of her residences the same day and confiscated portraits of the founder of Falun Gong, laptops, Falun Gong books and informational materials, and cash. She refused to answer questions during interrogation and was admitted to the Qinhuangdao City Detention Center despite reported high blood pressure and an elevated heart rate.
The Funing District Court tried her case on August 21, 2025. Presiding judge Lin Shuangquan and prosecutor Sun Dayun conducted the hearing, which ended in about two hours; Ms. Fu’s brother, the only family member allowed to attend, was removed from the courtroom partway through. Minghui reports that the prosecutor repeatedly interrupted her defense lawyer and the judge did not stop it.
Minghui reports that Ms. Fu had been targeted before: arrested at work in January 2001 and sent to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp, and arrested again in November 2009, passing through the Qinhuangdao City, Kaiping, and Shijiazhuang Women’s forced labor camps until her release around December 2010. She took up Falun Gong in 1998 after her mother, Ms. Xu Huiying, recovered from ailments through the practice. This earlier history is preserved as source-attributed reporting in the Media Archive.
No reporting after the January 2026 Minghui update has been found; her current status is unconfirmed beyond that dated report.
