April–November 2024 — detention and hearings
WOIPFG reports the April 2024 detention of Liao and her husband Li Zhuozhong, a home search, detention in Meixian District, transfer of the case between procuratorates, and hearings on October 18 and November 12.
December 20, 2024 — sentences
WOIPFG and Bitter Winter report ten-year sentences for Liao and her husband and five-year terms for two co-defendants. Bitter Winter uses both Liao Yuanqun and Liao Yanqiong for the same person.
2025–2026 — prison transfer and roster
WOIPFG’s updated notice reports a May 2025 transfer of Liao to Guangdong Women’s Prison. Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists 廖燕琼 in the ten-year-sentence group.
Identity and evidence notes
WOIPFG explicitly identifies 廖燕琼（廖苑群）, while an earlier notice identifies Li Zhuozhong’s wife as 廖苑群. Liao Juanna (廖娟娜), a co-defendant sentenced to five years, is a different person. No official court judgment was located.
