Rights Defense Network reports that Liu Jie, born in 1977 and from Laishan District, Yantai, was taken from his Fengtai District residence on June 28, 2024 and criminally detained on June 29 by the Beijing Fengtai Public Security Bureau on suspicion of “picking quarrels and provoking trouble.” The report says he was held at Fengtai District Detention Center.
