Media Profile & Archive — Lu Jinhua (陆金华)

Profile summary

This archive accompanies the Political Prisoner Profile of Lu Jinhua, a Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun, Jilin Province, detained on February 19, 2023, and sentenced to four years in prison after a trial held without notifying her family. It preserves the documented source record of her case.

Born in 1965, Lu Jinhua was detained during a coordinated police operation in Changchun on the morning of February 19, 2023. Officers from the Dongzhan Police Station of the Erdao District Public Security Bureau took her from a fellow practitioner’s home; homes were searched and multiple practitioners were detained in the same sweep. After 15 days of administrative detention, her detention was converted to criminal detention on March 7, 2023. She was tried in secret — her family was not informed of the hearing — and sentenced to four years in prison on an unidentified charge. She is serving the sentence at the Jilin Provincial Women’s Prison (Hei Zuizi Prison) in Changchun; the sentence is reported to end on February 18, 2027.

Source provenance and limitations

The fullest narrative source is the Minghui.org case archive (an overseas Falun Gong-affiliated media outlet that documents detained practitioners). The Chinese Human Rights Defenders Prisoners of Conscience database independently records the same person with matching anchors: Changchun, February 19, 2023 detention by the Erdao Dongzhan police, secret trial, four-year sentence, Jilin Provincial Women’s Prison.

What is not established: the specific criminal charge was never publicly identified; the trial court is not named in available sources; no PRC official, court, or state-media coverage of the case has been located. The August 2026 roster’s four-year section header counts 171 people while the published list contains 169 names in both language editions — a source-count discrepancy that does not affect Lu Jinhua’s entry. Her name also appears in case records as 逯金华, an alternate rendering of the same name. Her status after February 1, 2025, has not been independently confirmed.
