Her sentence is reported to run to December 2026.
She has a long prior history of detention connected to her faith, as documented by the Minghui case library: she was detained for a month in June 2000 after traveling to Beijing to petition, detained for 13 days in early 2001, detained for 38 days in June 2003, and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment in July 2003. The library also reports repeated harassment by local police and the 610 Office in the years since.

Note on sources: the sentence and case details are reported by the CHRD monitor and the Minghui case library; the specific criminal charge was not identified in the records reviewed, and no PRC court publication of the verdict was found. The conviction is reported as a court finding, not an independently verified fact. This profile concerns Wang Xiulian (王秀莲) of Leshan, Sichuan — a different person from the Jiaohe Wang Xiulian (whose death in custody was reported separately) and from the Fushun and Huai’an same-name records.
